Monaco is big favorite here. I see three reasons for my pick:
1. Monaco have quality players in the team. But the truth is Monaco started the championship very bad. They are third from bottom on the table and this is close to be like catastrophe. However, League Cup is important competition in France and I am sure coach Guy Lacombe will ask the maximum from his players.
2. The tradition is on Monaco side. They won the last three games at home against Lorient. Here are the results:
13.09.2008. Monaco - Lorient 2:0
12.01.2008. Monaco - Lorient 1:0
3. Lorient coach Christian Gourcuff will probable decide to rest some of his players. The reason is next Saturday match with last placed Arles. This is very important match for Lorient and they must win if the want to escape the relegation.
